Cookie Notice

In short: OTN does not use cookies.

What does that mean?

This application does not store cookies on your device. We don't use local or session storage for personalisation or tracking either.

What is kept locally in your browser?

Nothing persistent. While composing a note, your browser keeps the text and the generated encryption key in memory (RAM). Once the tab closes, everything is gone.

What about the link fragment (#…)?

The encryption key is appended to the shareable link as a URL fragment. Browsers do not send fragments to our server — it stays between you, the recipient, and any browser history that records it.

If you forward the link (via chat or email), you forward the key. That is intentional — without it, the note cannot be decrypted.

Third parties?

None. We don't load fonts, scripts, or images from third-party servers. There is nothing that could set cookies.

End-to-end encrypted. Auto-deleted.
